The Best Recipe for Cannabis Lemonade

If you love edible cannabis infusions, you have to try your hand at weed lemonade. Not only is it one of the simplest infusions to make, but it’s super refreshing and delicious. It goes down smoothly and gives you a perfect, lingering buzz. It takes less than 10 minutes to prepare (okay, you do have to refrigerate it for half an hour, but that’s a totally labor-free step), and it makes six servings. Best of all, you only need three ingredients—no decarboxylated cannabis required.

Weed Lemonade Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

  • 6 servings of any water-soluble cannabis tincture

  • 3 to 4 cups of water

How to Prepare Your Weed-Infused Lemonade

This cannabis lemonade is so easy to make, you just might want to whip up a batch every few days. After all, lemons are high in vitamin C and fiber, so this is a great way to absorb some essential nutrients while also enjoying all the benefits of THC.

  1. Place the sugar in a small saucepan with one cup of water. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let the sugar dissolve. This will give you a simple syrup.

  2. Prepare your lemon juice. You can use store-bought lemon juice, or you can juice some fresh lemons into a cup (about 4 or 5 well-squeezed lemons should give you a full cup). Fresh-squeezed lemon juice generally gives you the best flavor, and you can even use the lemon slices as a garnish.

  3. Mix your simple syrup and lemon juice in a pitcher, and add 2 to 3 cups of water (depending on whether or not you prefer tart lemonade). It’s best to start with 2 cups of water and then test the flavor. Then add more water to your cannabis lemonade if needed.

  4. Place your fresh lemonade in the refrigerator for about 30 to 45 minutes to let it chill.

  5. Remove your lemonade from the refrigerator.

  6. Mix 6 servings of your favorite THC tincture into the lemonade (more on that below). When choosing from the many THC tinctures on the market, it’s important to look for a tincture that’s water-soluble or that uses a water-soluble carrier liquid. Your budtender can help you choose the right THC tincture for your recipe

Calculating the Cannabis Tincture Serving Size

Because this recipe makes six servings, you have to do a bit of math. When consuming THC tinctures, different people are accustomed to different amounts of THC.

So if your standard dose is 20mg per serving, you would need to multiply that by 6 (120 mg for a batch of lemonade). You can always adjust the dosage later if the effect proves too strong or too weak for your taste.

Simplified Weed Lemonade Recipe

This cannabis lemonade recipe is about as simple as it gets, but if you’re not a fan of simmering sugar in a saucepan or measuring out ingredients, you can make a simplified version of this recipe by simply mixing a THC tincture into your favorite commercial lemonade product. Once again, you’ll just have to calculate 6 servings of your favorite tincture and mix it in accordingly.

Though THC tinctures are traditionally designed to be taken sublingually, a lot of them can be mixed into foods or beverages as well. So if you find the right tincture, it’s just a matter of enhancing the beverages you already love—make THC lemonade, juices, smoothies, the sky’s the limit.
